NOMERA Jewellery is a brand, creating beautiful pieces that are bold, modern and timeless, using traditional craftsmanship skills. We have a niche, modern with an edge flair offering a range of products, with semi precious and precious recycled metals. Aimed at cultured consumers that have an appreciation for time, skill and craft involved in our products, but also have a taste for the things that set them apart from the current trends. Our brand follows a “slow is beautiful” moto, whilst having a responsibility in how our products are made and more importantly by whom.

When did you first realise you wanted to be a jewellery designer?
It was just before I moved to HK in 2013 I started to develop an interest and wanted to start my own brand.

Tell us about your design style. What makes your design unique in the industry?
NOMERA Jewellery is a niche, modern with an edge jewellery brand offering a range of products, handcrafted using traditional methods with semi precious and precious recycled metals.

What kind of person wears your jewellery? How do you want them to feel?
The people that wear my jewellery are cultured consumers that have an appreciation for the time and skill involved in our products but also have a taste for the things that set them apart from the current trends. People that value "Slow is beautiful".  I want them to feel uplifted, confident and knowing that they're wearing something not a lot of people have, making them feel special.

As a designer, where do you draw your inspiration from?
My designs are influenced by shapes, forms and lines inspired from cultures around the globe to create a concept of luxury urban wear.

What is your favourite jewellery tool? What’s your favourite technique?
I love using the ring clamp tool, I pretty much use it for everything, not just rings. My favourite technique is wax carving, I find it to be a really nice material to work with and very therapeutic.

Who are your favourite designers?
There are so many artists that I really admire but to name a few...René Lalique, Ninna York, Shaun Leane.

How do you decide what you want to create?
The process starts from inspiration to design, during the design process I decide what I want in which category. I don't have any set rules it just a matter of what I feel really strong for.

When is enough enough?
If artists didn't have to worry about money then the answer is, never!

Three words that sum up your brand identity.
Handcrafted, luxury, urban-wear.

What is the favourite piece you have ever created – and what made it so special?
The ruby cocktail ring for my Mum. Ruby is her stone and it's quite an unusual shape. I'm still trying to find my handwriting with stones and I loved what I had designed for this one.

When not working, what takes up your time… any hobbies?
I love to watch films, read books and do other craft related projects. I also like to get out and see the world, but that can be an expensive hobby.
