Level 1: Beginner Jewellery Making Course

The Beginner Jewellery Making Course is an excellent introduction to making silver jewellery. In four sessions, learn fundamental and basic silversmithing techniques. Develop your own designs to create beautiful pieces such as a soldered sterling silver ring, or a pendant. Tutors will guide students to develop techniques used by professionals and will encourage students to develop their own jewellery designs. Classes are limited to 6 students per session allowing individual attention from the tutor.


COURSE OUTLINE:

You will learn:

  • Introduction to hand tools and equipment

  • Learn fundamental silversmithing techniques including saw piercing, soldering, filing and finishing

  • You will create a charm pendant in silver during the first session

  • Apply all basic silversmithing skills to design and make more complex jewellery pieces

    You will create:

  • A charm necklace ( a 3 x 4 cm silver sheet and a chain will be provided)

  • Another jewellery piece (within 22 grams of silver are provided )

No previous experience required. Age 14 +


CLASS SCHEDULE:

All courses operate on a rolling schedule from Monday to Saturday. You may book your classes in advance and choose to attend any session from Course Schedule.
